The farm Fondi Rustici di Montelabate Srl  extends in the Municipalities of Perugia and Gubbio for about 1,824 hectares.
Montelabate Abbey is located in a baricentric position, approximately 20 kilometers from Assisi, Gubbio and Perugia.

Farm’s production mainly consists of cereals (durum, soft and barley wheat), oilseeds (sunflower and rapeseed), field beans, grapes and olives; it also includes about 750 hectares of woodland and hosts one of the most important, ancient and evocative Benedictine monastic settlements, the Abbey of S. Maria di Valdiponte.

This wide agricultural, naturalistic, landscape and historical heritage is managed by the Fondazione Gerolamo Gaslini, sole shareholder of the Srl, and therefore its owner.

The Fondazione, based in Genoa, was created in 1949 in order to be able to continuously guarantee the means necessary for the activity of the Giannina Gaslini Institute, an internationally renowned pediatric hospital inaugurated in 1938 for the “care, defense and assistance of ‘infancy and childhood” on the will and funding of Senator Gaslini.
